When I look at you

I’m familiar with unsure feelings that bring out my insecurities. 

Not so much with whatever’s going on inside of me.

Got me steering away from bar sceneries.

Looking around and not seeing a damn thing interesting to me.


When I look at you I see everything.

Like things I swore off years ago cause my last forever was only three months with me. 

And it hurt pretty deep.

But honestly I never thought I could get lost in your eyes and forget his entirely. 


When I look at you I see us doing silly things.

Like, flying high.

Ride or dies.

Cruising in my Chevy Bella-B.

School girl crushin on those gorgeous eyes staring back at me. 

Floating on cloud nine.

Making this heart race from zero to sixty at the drop of a dime.


Playing piano, sipping red wine.

Enjoying deep conversations with you all night.

Perfect moments captured in real live time.

For once in my life I’m not asking why.

But God damn I want to try. 

A couple years ago I never thought I’d.  

Ever again want to give away my heart,

But honey, you got me racing just to get to the start.


When I look at you I see a really good heart.

Making me laugh and smile,

My face lights up like a child every time you dial. 

I’m used to people leaving without saying anything. 

So I think that you’d tell me the truth even if you didn’t want me.

I guess no matter what happens you still made me believe. 

That’s something in quite some time hasn’t happened to me.


When I look at you I see a chance worth taking.

I think you’re worth the wait so I’m praying.

That my guarded gates open cause you might have changed this wary girls way of thinking. 

Putting it all on the table to roll the dice.

Cause babe you got me running stop signs.

Making my heart ache in different ways than the other guys.

Veteran of Heartache

Is it maturity, or five heartbreaks that make us braver for the next? Are we numb? Are we just jaded? Or are we really that much wiser due to all of our tragical ending experiences. Can we really smell bullshit from a mile away? Or is it self-fulfilling prophecies that keep us reliving the same cliches? Is our prior experience in love failures causing us to steer clear from love altogether, because we are afraid to lose again? Or are we truly that good at detecting future failures. Zero to one hundred. Rockets my emotions. Feeling somewhat, Disconnected. Making me, Teleport confusion. Even though, He don't give me a reason. How could he, He’s pretty damn fuckin amazing.
