Happy Valentine’s Day.
I wonder if you ever 
kept that keychain..
The one I bought you that said,
“Drive safe.”
Damn,
It’s crazy to think.
You only live inside my head
these days.

Rewind time.
Sipping beers at a hidden lake.
I remember you said.
Never ever change a thing.
So why’d you leave?
If you whispered 
That you love me.
Or waste my time sending texts.
Like, please don’t hate me.

Cause I look back
And remember everything.
I loved you.
Even if it made
my heart fucken sink.
Funny how,
Time hasn’t really changed a thing.
Probably cause
My hearts loved you
Since it was a fucking teen.

Fast forward we’re together in 2018.
A picture tells me everything.
Maroon dress,
Wearin nothing else 
but bright white smiling teeth.
That night,
You held me til I fell asleep.
So why’d you leave?
If you whispered such amazing things.
Or waste my time sending texts
I don’t let my future self delete.

Cause I look back and remember 
Everything.
Everywhere I go,
Your love is fucking haunting me.
Hiding in the store,
So I don’t run into 
your mom 
getting fucking groceries.

I can’t hate you.
I’ll always believe 
We had a fucken thing.
Even if February,
Likes to mess with me.

Sometimes love just fucking leaves.

Veteran of Heartache

Is it maturity, or five heartbreaks that make us braver for the next? Are we numb? Are we just jaded? Or are we really that much wiser due to all of our tragical ending experiences. Can we really smell bullshit from a mile away? Or is it self-fulfilling prophecies that keep us reliving the same cliches? Is our prior experience in love failures causing us to steer clear from love altogether, because we are afraid to lose again? Or are we truly that good at detecting future failures. Zero to one hundred. Rockets my emotions. Feeling somewhat, Disconnected. Making me, Teleport confusion. Even though, He don't give me a reason. How could he, He’s pretty damn fuckin amazing.
