Champagne & Loves Commodities-Poem
Does the pain still exist?
I question myself as I take a sparkling sip.
Staring at the rose gold champagne glass,
As it makes me think of it for more than what it really is.
I remember a time that inherits a smile.
We crossed our arms and cheered before we swallowed the champagne down.
The pain launched straight to its depart.
All I have are the raindrops from my eyes,
The pain still lingers from afar,
I’m still crazy for believing we were more than what we ever were.
But I'm sure sometimes life even launches you to reminisce.
The days I loved you more than you could imagine.
Turns out my love for you was tragic.
One love for life you asked me for it.
Although forever was never what you wanted.
You knew I’d love you with my entire heart, a few times in life I promised.
So don’t hate me for trying and crying,
or for even worse, tragically disqualifying.
Because the true merit here is,
This love only exists in the grayest clouds of what ifs.
And time will always remember how you weren't there for me when I really needed it.
Besides, forever is more like a stronghold,
So I walk into the nearest shop looking to pawn all of our metaphorically spoken possessions off.
I question myself as I take a sparkling sip.
Staring at the rose gold champagne glass,
As it makes me think of it for more than what it really is.
I remember a time that inherits a smile.
We crossed our arms and cheered before we swallowed the champagne down.
The pain launched straight to its depart.
All I have are the raindrops from my eyes,
Whenever I remember your existence inside of my heart.
The pain still lingers from afar,
I’m still crazy for believing we were more than what we ever were.
But I'm sure sometimes life even launches you to reminisce.
To drink to celebrate, or even worse to drink to forget.
That's why it never felt lawful to sentence my heart to life,
Especially since your love hit me harder than this sparkling wine.
Especially since your love hit me harder than this sparkling wine.
It carries its weight on and on just like gold.
Luckily, somethings in this life we are able to put a price on to let go of.
Turns out it holds value knowing you longer than I’ve ever known,
Some lovers that have called me their very own.
Luckily, somethings in this life we are able to put a price on to let go of.
Turns out it holds value knowing you longer than I’ve ever known,
Some lovers that have called me their very own.
So of course I'd pay all the money in my pocket,
For a cause to forget you and everything that came along with it.
For a cause to forget you and everything that came along with it.
So I walk into the nearest shop looking to pawn all of our metaphorically spoken possessions off.
But this little old man tells me,
That the only price for love is loss.
Forever it exists, that’s its biggest cost.
He then points over to an old bottle of champagne on the shelf,Forever it exists, that’s its biggest cost.
And says,
"But not much of a cost for a cure for the loss itself"
