Believing in Love

You aren’t my Superman.
Even if it felt like rescuing.
Maybe that’s what shatters me.

Cause you calm

every brutal quake inside of me.

But I can’t love
the past out of you.
I can’t fix,
Deep dark shit,
you harbored inside of you.

I can’t kiss every scar

until you forget

what put it there.

I can’t reach inside you

and make you believe

in something

you stopped believing

long before.

You don’t believe in love.

I can’t fix that.

Even if I could love you

with every ounce of love

I have left.

I could pour every soft,

loyal,

ridiculous piece of my heart

into your hands.

But it still wouldn’t be enough

to make you want

what you don’t want.

I gotta move on.

Not because

I don't love you enough.

Because,

I finally understand.

I cannot love you into,

Believing in love.
